While not standard operating procedure, far be it from us to assign a designation to one of our lightning protection solutions that no one recognizes. If our clients describe our streamer-delaying lightning protection system as the “fuzzy ball” — then we decided we would too!
So it is official. Meet the Fuzzy Ball™. Bearing its now familiar alias, the Fuzzy Ball™ is a streamer-delaying lightning protection system whose function is to employ basic convention along with modified air terminals designed to reduce the incidence of direct strikes to structures being protected. It is one in a long line of products for full spectrum static solutions, lightning and transient protection.
Available in variable lengths based on site specifications, there are four metals to choose from including stainless steel, copper, aluminum, or tinned copper.
With a name like this, will the Fuzzy Ball™ become synonymous in the lightning protection/streamer delaying industry as “Kleenex” has to the facial tissue industry? We believe so, yes.
