Lightning Master is proud of the relationships we have, the reputation we have and the people and infrastructure we are honored to protect.
After dealing with multiple lightning protection companies, Lightning Master is truly a step ahead of the competition. The tech is there. The service is there. The relationship is there. What more could you ask for?
Jack Martin, West Texas Area Manager at Black Mountain Disposal LP.
Lightning Master’s invoicing is detailed and easy to follow. We had used two other vendors prior to Lightning Master and neither of them had the level of detail nor follow-up that Lightning Master provided. Add in the various publications and reputation within the field, our property coverage underwriters were happy to hear that we had their system at all of our facilities.
Michael Chu, Chief Operating Officer at Black Mountain Disposal LP.
We have had these air terminals and bypass conductors on our new tanks for almost two years with zero complaints. During the summer of 2013, a storm pass directly through the terminal and a tank with the rim system south of the newtanks was struck by lightning creating a seal fire. Minutes later a stack north of the new tanks was struck as well. Our new tanks located between the two objects struck by lightning were not. I am not sure if this was coincidence, mother-nature, or modern engineering. However, I am glad that our new tanks were not struck, and believe we made the correct decision when we chose the protection system and the bypass conductors.
Nate Werner, BORCO Operations, Buckeye Partners, LLC.
In controlling the problem, it is generally only possible to mitigate — not eliminate — the production of a static charge and the creation of a flammable mixture. So consider implementing a system for steel and fiberglass tanks that dissipates the charge, bonds all the masses of inductance, and includes air terminals. It certainly will enhance the safety of employees, contractors and the public.
Alan Roachell, HSE director for Rosewood Resources & Advanced Drilling Technologies (ADT)
Had it not been for the SPD system, the electrical system would have been completely destroyed and quite possible could have caught on fire.
Ambrose S. Daigle III, Facility Manager, Department of the Army
This system approach to lightning protection has been very successful in controlling lightning damage at this site. Since we completed the conversion, we have not had a single incidence of damage or down-time.
Colin Smith, Cellular System Supervisor for Vanguard
It is unbelievable how much better these things work with the static drains in the tanks. We now plan to retrofit all existing and to equip all new radar sensor equipped fiberglass tanks with ITSD’s regardless of lightning and static considerations. That way, we’ll only pay for one benefit, but enjoy two.
Jimmy Anderson, Master Electrician
We placed lightning protection using a formula that included Lightning Master Corp. air terminals and various equipment on 12 sites that had been struck multiple times and we also bonded and grounded most sites in the strike pattern area. On some of the sites where we had fiberglass tanks, we also installed the in-tank static drain dissipaters. Since 2009 after protecting the sites, none were struck again. I also believe we went from 6 – 8 strikes per year to 1 or 2 strikes at most. The 1 or 2 per year are sites not yet fully protected with Lightning Master’s solutions.
